Requirements for a Philippines eVisa

An eVisa for the Philippines was introduced as a pilot program for nationals of China on August 24, 2023. More information will be announced in the future when the system is fully operational.

Apply for Philippines eVisa

The Philippines eVisa requirements are rules that the Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs stipulated for travelers willing to apply for an electronic visa.

The requirements for a Philippines eVisa consist of the obligatory documentation and conditions related to completing the application online.

Applicants must provide digital copies of necessary documents, including a passport with a least 6 months of validity period and a face photograph taken recently. Depending on the nationality and updates on the requirements, travelers might be required to upload additional documents like tickets, financial proof, and health insurance coverage.

It is also required to hold a working device, have access to a stable internet connection, online payment means, and an active email address.

Please note that this is a general overview since, currently, the Philippines eVisa has been only launched as a pilot scheme in China, and specific requirements can vary significantly when the eVisa system is implemented in other countries.

Required documents

The application process for a Philippines eVisa involves the uploading of the necessary documentation:

  • a passport (must be biometric and remain valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in the Philippines)
  • a recent applicant’s face photograph (must be in color, the full face must be visible, an applicant should look directly into the camera)

The documents are provided in the digital form. Applicants can use a scanner or take photographs using the device’s camera. The copies must show all four corners of the document and present all the data clearly.

Depending on the traveler’s nationality and updates in the Philipines visa guidelines, there may be additional documents required, such as a return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation booking, proof of sufficient funds, travel insurance, etc.
